This Cha Cha was originally intended to be a Descarga - basically, a musical vehicle for multiple solos. After we met the amazing Bolivian poet, Camila Arraya, we knew that this song could also provide a way to verbally, lyrically express some of our hopes and concerns. This version of the recording contains Arraya's poem in the form of a letter to a younger loved one. Pan Dulce hopes that listeners will be encouraged to be proud of who they are, as they are. The challenges to positive self-esteem and self-worth promoted by social media and the like, seem to be most harsh toward young women. Maybe, but this worsening problem affects people of all ages, identities and demographics. We say, "How 'bout just U B U?"
